I grew up in New Mexico, moved to New York, and then to the U.S.-Mexico border as a photojournalist. After working as a contract, freelance, and staff photographer in Peru, Mexico, Hong Kong, and New York, I earned a master's degree in New Media journalism. My news and documentary photography and video have been featured by CNBC, Time Magazine and The Believer; I have been on staff for The Chicago Sun-Times, TouchVision, and others.
I've earned degrees from Columbia University and the Medill School of Journalism, and won the Fulbright Grant and national awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Puffin Foundation, the Saler Foundation, the Lily Foundation, and Red Bull Music. I live in Los Angeles and am always looking for the next taco and the next story to tell.
